Overview & Features

The PTM Series is a hydraulic motor with a planetary reduction gear, which can be controlled from high-speed low torque to low-speed high torque, and vice versa. It is used in various areas, including construction, shipbuilding, and industrial machinery and vehicles with special functions.

- The PTM Series is a two speed control-type axial piston motor in which a double-counter balance valve and a mechanical brake are built.
- The motor of high-pressure and high-capacity has an optimized design at every part in it.
- It combines the hydraulic motor and the planetary reduction gear with various built-in functions.
- The two speed of the motor is properly controlled by adjusting the exterior pilot.
- The double counter balance valve and the shockless, cross over relief valve being built in the motor's main body, the motor is equipped with a brake system which is excellent in the absorption of shocks.
- The mechanical brake is a negative brake and operates together with the counter balance valve. It operates and stops operation automatically as the motor runs and stops running.

Precautions for Using

Precautions for Using

  • Use bolts the degree of strength of which is over JIS 10.9 at the time of putting parts together.
  • Make use of bolt holes at the time of putting parts together in order not to do damage to the motor.
  • Arrange pipes after chocking the direction of the motor's rotation and take measures to keep alien substances from coming into the motor.
  • Be sure to fill the motor with working oil before operating it.
  • Make the back pressure of the motor drainage port 2kgf/㎤.
  • Use abrasion-resistant working oil the viscosity grade of which is between ISO VG 32 and 56.
  • Previous consultation is required when using oil other than the above specified one.
  • The period for the change of working oil varies according to operational conditions and external circumstances. It is suggested, however, that you change it after 1,000 hours of running or once a year.
  • Although oil for the speed reduction gear is supplied at the time of shipping, be sure to check it before operating the motor.
  • Use gear oil with pressure-standing additives which are equivalent to SAE #90.
  • The period for the change of gear oil varies according to operational conditions and external circumstances. It is suggested, however, that you change it after 1,000 hours of running or once a year.
  • When the level of gear oil is lowered, check what the cause is and what you should do and then add some oil.
  • Use the same kind of gear oil when you change it or add some, and do not blend different kinds.
  • Pour oil in until it overflows the oil volume checking port. When the plug is put into the port, be sure to envelop the plug with the Teflon tape.
  • When operating the motor for repair and maintenance, check unusual sounds. After stopping operation, check oil leakage, loosening of bolts, and abnormal rising of the temperature of the casing(The normal exterior temperature of the casing at the time of uninterrupted running is 80℃ at the maximum.)
